Nidhogg
Description | Platforms: PC, Playstation, Xbox, macOS
Publisher: Messhof Games
Year of release: 2014
Nidhogg is a side-scrolling action game for two players, which has players fencing (sword fighting) in a fantasy setting with pixelated graphics, with the winner receiving the glory of being eaten as sacrifice by the mythical Nidhogg.
The game's humour is supported by easy-to-learn controls, but unveils a level of complexity and depth after a few short sessions. Nidhogg is more approachable than the average fighting game, but contains many of the same elements and learning outcomes that could potentially be approached by a wider audience. The humour keeps players engaged and it’s also a very fun game to watch.
Nidhogg is easy to set up and play, as it only requires two controllers and one screen, with round times taking anywhere from 2-10 minutes depending on the skill level and even-ness of the match. |
